Richie Sambora - Paris, Le Bataclan le 26 juin 2014
Wednesday, June 25, Richie Sambora and his band were comfortably seated in the VIP lodges at Düsseldorf airport when they are told a strike and there are no more flight to Paris for the day. Far from dismantling, Richie decides to join Paris by car. The troupe arrived in our capital at half past three in the morning the day of the concert.
Paris is well worth a sleepless night.
It is in a total delirium Bataclan that at 8 pm, Richie Sambora and his band, Orianthi on guitar, Curt Schneider on bass, Luke Ebbin guitars keyboards, Mike Farrell on keyboards and Victor Indrizzo on drums. .
The fireworks starts with "A Song for You," a cover of Leon Russell. "Every Road Leads Home To You," "Nowadays," continued the show. Now comes a titanic version of "Lay Your Hands on Me" by Bon Jovi. The Parisian public is in perfect communion with Richie who loves Paris and let him know. He is obviously happy to be there with us even in a small concert hall as the Bataclan. We can feel it, feel it, breathe it. The smile never left his lips.
On "Storybook Story", a song by Willy DeVille, Richie offers us a very rare thing, an intro to the accordion. It was a magical moment that the connoisseur audience widely appreciated. Following "Storybook Story", the band offers us an epic version of nine minutes of "I'll Be There For You" with guitarist Cosmo, an English friend of Richie.
What about Orianthi ? She sings one of her songs, "You Don’t Know", and Richie leaves him some solos. Australian lady of 29 years is not only beautiful but it is clear that she is very talented. She played with Alice Cooper during his last tour and Michael Jackson.
The show ends with an acoustic version of "Livin 'On A Prayer" quite different from the version of Bon Jovi but very successful. The public good from the start to finish tonight I repeat, is delighted.
We get a lot of encores including "These Days" with its magnificent reggae intro, an acoustic "Rosie" shortcut, and a demonic "Wanted Dead or Alive" that always appeals to both with "Stick To Your Guns" by way of intro.
Well, it's over. The musicians come to greet the public in the hurray and "Richie! ".
The lights come back on Bataclan leaving the Bataclan for 1500 radiant faces.
A concert of a happy man dubbed a prodigy guitarist who has nothing to prove but just modestly passion play his music to fans filled.
You've seen a thousand faces and you rocked them all!
