Issa - Queen of broken Hearts

Norwegian singer Issa is back with a sixth solo album named Queen of Broken Hearts. Issa is a powerful voice, beautiful melodies and always a solid band behind her: Simone Mularoni (DGM) on guitars, Andrea Torricini (Vision Divine), on bass, Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline) (also in production ) on keyboards and Marco Di Salvia (Hardline) on drums.

Queen of Broken Hearts is an album with beautiful melodic compositions and it is not Angels Calling, the first title, which will prove the contrary. AOR keyboards, rock and sometimes thick guitars and Issa's voice soaring in a melodic blue sky. Same feeling for The Way Out, a most enjoyable melodic rock.

The Night It Rained Forever sounds more contemporary thanks to contemporary-sounding keyboards, but the guitars of the excellent Simone Mularoni are very rock. A superb title. Just like I'm Here To Stay, another complex and perfectly produced composition.

Blue is an intro piano ballad, soon joined by beautiful guitars. However Blue is a melancholy title on which Simone Mularoni shows his incredible technicality and the full extent of his talent. Queen of Broken Hearts is a faster track, with a lot of liveliness and still this incredible voice of an extraordinary power.

Derive also demonstrates the beautiful complexity of the titles, while remaining accessible to all lovers of melodic rock. Without Love reminds me of how Issa's voice reminds me of another diva, Céline Dion. Same powerful voice, the same ease of going up in the treble, of going back down in the bass. I don't know how Issa is going to take this, but here it is a real compliment even though their respective music is totally different from each other.

Wait For Love is more rock, the guitars are more aggressive, even if the keyboards of Ale del Vecchio are still well present. After The Rain and especially the very melodic Die For A Life With You (what a bass sound and what a fucking solo from Simone!) close one of the best albums of the Norwegian singer. Impeccable compositions, a huge production, a band united around her majestic voice make this album a total success. This album will be available for purchase on march 12.
